How did you discover ANNA QUAN, and what were your first impressions of the label?

At FDS we always follow the careers of our graduates and have watched Anna’s label flourish over the past 10 years. Anna Quan has always been a fantastic representation of Anna’s talent as a designer and business woman, and her brand longevity is testament to that.

How would you describe Anna’s signature aesthetic, and what elements of the label are you personally drawn to?

Anna’s signature elevated tailoring provides timeless wardrobe pieces for the professional woman with an effortless chic style. The pieces have a great versatility and can be worn for many occasions.

As an established Fashion Lecturer, which specific ANNA QUAN design directives inspire you most?

As a fashion realisation lecturer, I am inspired by Anna’s clever detailing and ability to elevate minimalist designs with a classic edge that work beyond seasonal trends to be staple wardrobe pieces with a modern design aesthetic.

You are educating and inspiring a new generation of Fashion Designers. What key learnings does ANNA QUAN as a label provide for your students?

Anna was always focussed as a student and knew where she wanted to go. The evolution of Anna Quan is a representation of her determination, resilience, and skills as a designer. These are key elements to the success of any label and her story provides optimism for aspiring designers that come through FDS.

Comment on Anna’s celebrated tailoring pieces – silhouettes and detailing.

Anna has stayed true to her elevated tailoring aesthetic. She always had an incredible attention to detail, which is evident in her designs. Clever details, drawing on classic masculine influences at times, give her silhouettes a relaxed cool edge which allow for them to be mixed and matched and worn time and time again, giving them an element of sustainability as long-lasting timeless pieces in any wardrobe.
